Thailand retirement visa requirements?
I'm planning to retire in Thailand within the next year or two and am starting to research visa options. Specifically, I'm looking for detailed information on the requirements for the Thailand retirement visa (Non-Immigrant O-A). Could someone outline the age restrictions, financial proof needed, and any other crucial documents or steps involved in the application process?

Thailand offers several retirement visa options:

- No criminal record
- Health insurance with minimum THB 40,000 outpatient / THB 400,000 inpatient coverage
Non-Immigrant O Visa (converted in-country)
- Same financial requirements
- Can enter on tourist visa then convert
Duration:
- 1-year permit, renewable annually
- Must report address every 90 days
- Re-entry permit needed if leaving Thailand
Practical Living Costs:

- 🏖️ Chiang Mai (affordable, expat community)
- 🌴 Phuket/Krabi (beach lifestyle)
- 🏙️ Hua Hin (close to Bangkok)
- 🌊 Koh Samui (island life)
⚠️ Important:
Thailand does NOT offer a path to citizenship through retirement. Consider the LTR visa for a longer-term option.
